It is has been observed that the students of schools/colleges are becoming victims of unrest and frustration due to heavy pressure of their studies. They also face pressure from their parents to do the best in their studies in today’s competitive world. A large number of students take unpleasant steps and harm themselves in such state of mental pressure.
The University has decided to take the following measures to cope with such problems and all affiliated institutes must follow these steps to avoid any kind of unrest among students:
Measures to be adopted to cope with unrest & frustration among students
1. Guidance & Counselling Cell
The highly qualified and experienced faculty members, preferably who are
experienced in the field of psychology, should be deputed as Counsellor to
provide moral and emotional support to the students by sharing their academic
and personal problems. The institutes should conduct ‘Counselling Sessions’ once
in 15 days where students could put up their queries & doubts.
Not only students, but faculty members and parents of the students should also be
given proper counselling & guidance so as to develop more of support &
satisfaction among students.
Institutes should strive to maintain healthy relations between teachers & students
to avoid pressure & stress.
2. ACDC
All the affiliated institutes are directed to form an Academic & Disciplinary Cell
in their respective institutes to stop ragging of students, smoking and other anti
disciplinary activities in the premises of the institute.
3. PTMs
A regular parents-teachers meeting must be conducted by the institute to sensitize
parents about the emotional needs of students.
4. Workshops
Institutes should also conduct workshops based on spirituality & positive thinking
to reduce mental stress among students.
5. Girls Rooms
Institutes must have a separate room for girls i.e. girls common room.
6. Suggestion Boxes
A suggestion box should be maintained in all affiliated colleges to know the
problems of students, and sort them out in the best possible manner.
7. Seminar System ‘For Faculty’
Every institute must conduct lecture programme at least once in 15 days for
faculty members. Faculty must deliver lectures on their subject for 30 minutes on
random basis to develop efficiency among them.
